3:40pm
Jonathan's bike has been recovered!
His friend found it last night laying along
the road.  We just got it back today.
Surprisingly it was not spray painted
or damaged in any way that I could see.

I had clues from people that the
one person stole it and it passed
hands to someone else in the
neighborhood because it
was spotted that very night a
couple streets away.  Someone
mentioned to that person who
had it that it was Jonathan's bike.
That person sped off very quickly
and hasn't been seen again.
No one knew who this other person was.

Like I said we don't have an official neighborhood
block watch.  But, that doesn't mean you
can't bring neighbors together to watch
out for one another.
Spread the word to adults and even young
children that roam the neighborhood
who will in turn tell more people.

The chances of getting back a stolen
bike are probably about 1%.
These past two weeks we have
been able to recover 3 bikes total,
2 of which were ours!!
And of the three, 2 of them were spray
painted.
One of our bikes from this year is still missing.

Well that has made my day so I
am hoping things will start looking brighter!

Time to head out back and get out
my wagon I found along the curb
for bulk pickup.  I asked the owner
if I could have it and they said yes.
So now we're going to go clean it up
and use it tonight to haul our lawn
chairs and cooler in when watching
the Good Guy cars out at
the Continent.

6:35pm

Got the wagon fixed and cleaned up.
It had a sway bar underneath that
came disconnected and was missing
a screw/bolt when I found it.
Before-

After
Mom said she saw a used wagon
similar to this John Deer one at a yard
sale today for $50!!
I like my freebies!

Sometime I would like to sand down
some areas which have a little rust showing  and give it a new paint job
along with staining the wood
to help preserve it more.

Dad and Jonathan taking Big Red
out for a spin.

We got back home around 11:30-11:45pm.
The later it had gotten the more people
had come out to Busch Blvd
to see the cars.  Thousands of people
show up for this!  And I'm not talking
about the actual car show but the
gathering at the hotels.
Another hot spot to see the cars is in
Worthington near High St. & 270.
We didn't make it up there this year.

View of Busch Blvd.
still early in the evening around 8pm.
By night fall it was packed.
This included along the side
of Busch Blvd in front of Wendy's.
People would wait til after dark to
come out to beat the heat.
The traffic is still mild here.  By 11pm
traffic was at a standstill or crawl in both directions
and even blocking the intersection
at times.

Here's Sh Boom the flame thrower
in the daylight.
