Sure are getting tired of this extreme heat!!

10:00 and it is 88 but feels like 99 degrees out!

Still have today and tomorrow to go

til the temps drop down to the upper

80's hopefully without the humidity!

90 and feels like 103 degrees.

I went out and gave my veggies a drink

of water.

94 feels like 106 degrees.

I got the sorbet out of the freezer that

I made yesterday.  I scraped it all out

out of the hard block it was in

and added some more vanilla,

another 1/4 cup Splenda and

I added 2-3 cups milk and 

put it all into the food processor again.

It made a slushy kind of consistency.

I served some up to Jonathan in a cup.

Yummy on such a hot day!

Air conditioner is now set at 76 degrees
because yesterday it was having a hard
time at 74.

Mom had the same thing happen with 
her air conditioner with the extreme heat.
She had hers set at 74 degrees also
but the temperature in the house
wouldn't go lower than 79-80 degrees.


Hey if the 76 to 80 degrees feels comfortable
compared to the outdoor heat then
set the thermostat on those temperatures
so the air condition doesn't constantly run.

Well here we go again.
Lots of stuff I posted today just up
and disappeared.  GRRRR!


Mom's air conditioner went out this afternoon.
I went down and saw that the fan wasn't
running even though the air condition
was on.  I had to turn it off so it wouldn't
burn up the compressor which would cost
a lot to replace!  They didn't want to
come down to my place with the air condition
so stayed at home where it got up to 90 degrees!

When Tony got off work he went over
to look at the ac and replaced a capacitor
on it and now it works just fine.
A friend of ours from his work also
stopped by.  He is a certified HVAC
technician.  He double checked it and
looked to see if it might need more
freon which it didn't.
He also came to our place and checked
out our ac, cleaned the inside out and
it needed more freon.
This guy from Tony's work is so nice.
He didn't charge us nor mom
anything.  I asked him how much it
would cost for a contractor to come
out and tune up an air conditioner
and give it freon.  He said it would
start at $175 normally!!!
So today we saved between mom and us
a total of $350!!!

So glad the storm rolled through
earlier.  It actually feels cooler out
and more tolerable.

Finally got a chance to take the load
of stuff in the truck to dump it all tonight.
The truck has been packed full
since Tuesday from cleaning out
the basement.  It finally cooled off
to 77 this evening so took advantage of it.

Earlier today around 12:30 I had to use
the truck to go to mom's to check out
her air condition.  You wanna talk about
hot!  The black truck was sitting with the windows up and the heat index was 106 outside so it felt like
I was sitting in hell for the brief ride with no
air condition in the truck.
