Here are a couple recipes for
 Homemade Pedialyte.

Keeps for up to 3 days.
Give to children who may have
diarrhea or are sick.

3 cups boiling water

1 tablespoon clear Karo Syrup
Pinch baking soda
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Mix thoroughly.
Refrigerate.

--------------------------------
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3 Tbsp sugar or honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Basic Recipe: Mix all ingredients together and sip on as desired.  Refrigerate if a cold drink is prefered.
Flavored Recipe: Add 1/2 packet of Kool-aid to Basic Recipe.
Orange Juice Recipe: Add the soda and salt to orange juice mixed with water.
------------------------------

2 quarts water
1 teaspoon baking soda
7 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup fresh-squeezed or bottled orange juice
Directions:
Stir all the ingredients in the water until they are completely dissolved. The solution can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days, or for a treat to tempt a child it can be made into popsicles (an ice cube tray and toothpicks work well if you don’t have a popsicle mold).

8:05am

I sketched out another picture this
morning.  This one is of tiger eyes.
Thought about putting these across
the rear of Christopher's tiger jeans.

I'm getting ready to head
to some yard sales soon.

Little birdies have been using
this clothes line pole for the last
couple of years as their home.
This is in the neighbor's yard.
------------------------------------

The other day while getting
a prescription at Kroger
for Christopher I found this
8 pack of flavored water for $1.39.
Was $2.79.

We had taken Christopher last night to
get checked out by a doctor
at Urgent Care
because he's had a deep congested cough the past
4 days. The school sent him
home one morning because of it.
Doc didn't say he had anything major,
no upper respiratory infection or things
like that.  He did say his ear was slightly
pink.  He hasn't had ear pain or any high
fevers, no nose drainage or anything
like a cold.  Anyway he was
put on augmenten which is an antibiotic
about like amoxicillin.

---------------------------------

This evening we had to pick
up Christopher's other prescription
of cough syrup then took the kids
to McDonals.  Got the 4 cheeseburger
and 4 fries meal for $3.99
plus 3 drinks.  Can't beat that.
Started to pour down rain pretty good.
Saw two rainbows in NW Columbus
once it cleared up.
As we neared the NE side of Columbus
it started raining again and saw yet
another rainbow.
We visited a friend out East
near Ricart and as we were going
down Hamilton Rd on we
saw a double rainbow!!
FIVE RAINBOWS in one
evening!!!  It was due to the
on again and off again rain
clouds.

Just got home around 9:30pm.

As much as we did not want to look
for another car nor even want
to think about selling one
we think it would be in our
better interest to do both
due to the rising cost of gasoline.
The Suburban is costing us at
least $20 a day for Tony to drive
to work.  Maybe more if he is
on call and has to go to and
from work several times in an
evening or weekend.
The car is a little better on gas
than the truck but it is also a v8 motor.
It would have to be the car to go
as we need the truck to haul stuff.
And we have a car trailer that
needs something to tow it.
Only use the truck on an
as needed basis.

A couple days ago I saw an add on

Craigslist about a Toyota Camry LE
4 cylinder
for $900.  Looked beautiful with no
rust or dents.  Up to 30mpg .
I knew many people would
jump all over this car.  Even has
working air condition.
Tonight I got home and saw that
they emailed me wanting to arrange a time
to come see it.  You don't know
how excited we were because we
didn't really want to spend much
on another car.

I had told Tony I was using a strategy
to try to be the chosen one to
come look at it (tomorrow though).
He thought I was nuts but hey
when they wrote back and said
they got an overwhelming number
of responses I knew that my reply
to the add was why we got chosen.

We've bought and sold cars

so many times I have lost count.
So I know what I would
look for in a response.

Be polite, let them know you
are serious about the item you
are purchasing without writing
a book about it, let them know
your first name, phone number,
when you are available- day & time,
maybe the reason for wanting
the item- like I said we had a
Suburban that's costing us
$20+ a day to drive and we
needed something with better gas mileage.
I also let the person know
that we weren't too far from
where they lived so they would
get a quicker visit from us
to come see the car rather
than waiting for someone to drive
across town.
Double check your spelling
using spell check if need be.
Don't use slang or abbreviations
like- When R U available to c UR car.
If you can't write normally
then I myself wouldn't want
to reply to you!
I'm thinking you're a kid playing around.
And don't leave a small comment like-
I want to buy your car- with no
other comments with it.

So I hope and pray it all works
out for us.  We cannot afford
the gas along with everyone
else and have to make a few changes
to cope with it before it makes us broke!!

Does seeing 5 rainbows in
one evening bring good luck?
I sure hope it does!

The car is in Upper Arlington.

We remembered this
commercial about Toyota Camrys
when considering this car.
The car we're looking
at looks like the white
one in the video.
I can't embed the video for
some reason so you'll have
to go HERE to see.

With so many responses
the owner removed the ad
from Craigslist.
