1:05pm

Got up early this morning and headed
to the flea market on the South end.
While it was packed I didn't find
anything of interest there.
Jonathan on the other hand bought
himself a bicycle for $5.00
with some of his birthday money.
Excellent deal as I have never seen
one priced that low at the flea market.
It needs a little work but that's ok
since we have many bicycle parts
laying around.

Here is where Jonathan started
to immediately work on his bike
once we got home, lol.
Yes, it has the other tire and rim
and he was working on getting it
put back together and pumped up.
Still needs brakes.

Holy crap, I just priced some
new Haro Bikes to see what they
were worth and new ones
can run $250 to over $500.
Me, being the mom, doesn't
know much about bicycles or
name brands of them
is why I have to research some things
See ya need to know this kind of stuff
especially when kids like to leave
their bikes laying around.
They need to know that it is possible
it could get stolen if they don't
keep a close eye on it!!

See HERE on Craigslist you will
not find a Haro bike for under
$125 for a USED one!!!
I've taught my children well, LOL!
For only $5.00-
WAY TO GO JONATHAN!!
If he wanted to, he could part it out
and still make some good money on it.

On the way back home we stopped
in a neighborhood yard sale near
71 and Cooke Rd.
I found something Tony's been wanting
for a long time.
I have a list in my head of our wants
and needs when shopping yard sales.
The wants we can go without
buying new and can wait til I find a really
good deal on a used one.

Tony's been wanting a GPS.
They run around $100 if not more.
Sometimes you can find sales of them
for maybe around $80 if you're lucky.
I even watched Black Friday sales
and they still ran around this price range.
Waaay out of my price range
for something that wasn't necessary to have.

So anyways we're at this yard sale
and see a TomTom 4N01.002
3rd edition 1 GB edition, talking,
for $15.

Product Features

  • The world’s #1 selling GPS; preloaded with maps of the United States and Canada
  • Millions of points of interest; TomTom MapShare instant map updates
  • Pocket-sized design; 3.5-inch touchscreen with 2D and 3D views
  • Turn-by-turn spoken directions
  • “Help Me” emergency menu; real-time traffic capability
$15 is a great price for a GPS but if
you know me I have to see if I have
any haggle room and feel the seller out, LOL!
At first the seller was like-
$15 is a really good deal! so I whined
a little saying I've never owned one
and wanted to see what they were all about.
With a little bit of my whining, lol,
the seller dropped the price another $5.00!!
down to $10.00 for the GPS.

Hey I thought the $15 was an excellent
price and so did the seller.
I'd of been happy paying that price
or even a dollar less.
When the seller automatically
said $10 I whipped out my money
and paid him!!

It's about 2.5 years old.
They go for
through Amazon!!

See what you can get at a fraction
of the cost when you wait to
buy things from your wants list??!!

Tony's been working on the newest
car.  He's putting new brakes on the
front along with new rotors
(weren't able to be turned)
and one brake caliper bracket, pins
and boots.

A guy at Tony's work just had
similar work done to his car.
He took it to Goodyear and they
charged him over $1200 for
parts and labor.
This backyard mechanic did it
for a little over $100.

Sometimes we'll call Goodyear
after doing some kind of car repair
just to see how much they
would have charged for that repair.
We like to know how
much we saved by doing it ourselves.

If you know how to work on cars
or are knowledgeable with do it yourself
projects around the house with
typical home maintenance-
now's the time to teach your kids
that are preteen to teenagers
the ins and outs of how to do all these things!
It will save them so much money
in the future with the lessons
you teach them while young!

4:00pm

I finished making my tomato
cages.  It's one long continuous cage
with rope woven between each plant
for more support.
It don't have to be the prettiest
as long as it's functional!
And it didn't cost me any extra
by using supplies I already had.
ok, it's very hard getting thin
wire to show up in the photos so
use your imagination.
I can't seem to be able to upload
videos or I would to make it show
up better.

I still don't feel the greatest.
Lots of coughing and have
floaty head.  The voice
has seen some improvement.
I go with the flow when the energy allows.
The energy has officially burned off
for the day.  Don't know how I made
it this far but I have tried to keep moving.
I feel that if I lay around
I only feel worse.

With our new GPS toy

comes the thought of this
Allstate commercial.
We've been running around the house saying,
"recalculating!"
LoL.
