9:15am

Well today we'll start the installation
of putting in the fridge and running
water lines and removal of the old fridge.
Sounds like fun doesn't it.
So much for our backs!

--------------------------------

11:00am
Got the fridge out of the truck.
Now heading to Menards.

--------------------------------

2:15pm

Back home after touring parts of
Columbus like Gahanna & Reynoldsburg
and then Menards on Morse Rd.
That store was packed!
Literally all the parking spots
were full to the point people were
driving around waiting to park!

Found an ice maker installation kit
at Menards with 25 foot tubing
and all connectors and shut offs
for around $6.
Also got 5 copper solar outdoor lights
for $1.25 each.
And a 6 pack of early girl tomatoes.
----------------------------------

3:15pm

Looking like a kitchen rehab in here
at the moment.  Got fridge and stove
pulled out and gonna start work
on running the water lines from
fridge over to the sink.
Might have to pull out dishwasher also.

This house is always a work
in progress.  Almost every room
this year will get a partial makeover.

--------------------------------

7:10pm

My honey's been working for
the last 4 hours on this fridge.
Finally got it in the house after
removing doors and any protruding
objects from it.
Let me just say this-
older houses-
not made for these newer
appliances, ahhhhh!
We had to remove the bottom
wall molding just to fit,
or in this cast the word would
be to squeeze, the refrigerator
in this small space we have.
Fridge getting put back together.
Wall to the right of fridge
along with tore out molding.
Cabinet to the left of fridge.
Cabinet to the left of fridge.
Oily finger smudgies on side of fridge
that hasn't been wiped off yet.

 -------------------------------

8:05pm

Fridge- Nice for $75.

Installation by ourselves- a bitch.

First day of vacation- still too much work
and not enough relaxation.

The kitchen- wiped out!

The leak we got on the floor once water
was turned on- not good!

Realizing the leak was caused
by a cracked water filter that
will cost $40 to replace from Lowes- a bummer.

Finding a filter by PUR
at Walmart for only $30.00 - a little better.
Actually in stock- amazing!

Filtered water over regular
city water- better.

Fridge runs and cools really good- a plus!

The savings we got by
buying a used side by side fridge
and bringing
it home and installing
it ourselves- BUNCHES!

Will get the replacement filter
tomorrow at Walmart.  It's been a long and
tiring day.  Time for a late supper
at Taco Bell.

My guess as to why the filter was
cracked-
The fridge has been sitting in their garage.
No water lines hooked up to it.
If it's been sitting in there most
of the Winter it's possible any
water in the filter froze and caused
the filter to expand and crack.

Was it worth all the aggravation-
ask me tomorrow.

Still need to attach bottom plate.
The filter goes into the round hole
in the bottom plate.
And the fridge could actually
be pushed back another 5 inches.
Need to saw a little off the end
of the counter top to be able to do so.
